Presents information on the curricula being used for younger children during the 2010-2011 school year at UPC.
Kindergarten and Pre-K
The pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten class follows a curriculum entitled, "Godly Play." Jerome W. Berryman, who developed this series, describes it as "an imaginative approach to working with children... that supports, challenges, nourishes, and guides their spiritual quest." Time is spent learning Bible stories through activities, stories and play.
Elementary
The first through fifth graders meet as a group. We use the
"We Believe Elementary" curriculum produced by the PC(USA), which engages children in the biblical story through a variety of learning styles and multiple intelligences.
