OPPORTUNITIES FOR SERVICE
Worship-Related Service

Members are always welcome to sing in the choirs, read the Scripture lessons, prepare the elements for Communion, provide flowers for the Sanctuary, greet, usher, welcome our visitors, and help in the nursery.

Service to Members of University Presbyterian

Through the efforts of many volunteer workers, UPC is able to offer such programs as the church school, youth ministry, Presbyterian Women circles, fellowship, the UPC Blood Bank, new member visitation and orientation, the church library, reading and discussion groups, and home and hospital visitation. Volunteers help in the church office and assist with maintenance of the building and grounds.

Service to the Community and the World

Monetary offerings for the Presbyterian Hunger Program and food offering for the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank are received on communion Sundays.

The Mission and Peacemaking Committee works to sponsor educational programs, prayer services, ecology projects, and many other activities. Our regular projects include Habitat for Humanity workdays and Volunteers of America playdays for foster children.

Our entire church school offering is designated yearly for one local and one international organization.
